| Los Angeles Guitar Quartet - master classical shredders! | October 7th, 2004 |
|
If you are looking for an intense guitar music check out The Los Angeles Guitar Quartet – John Dearman, Bill Kanengiser, Scott Tennant and Andrew York. Thier latest release "Guitar Heroes" finds them returning to their roots, paying tribute to a range of artists representing styles as diverse as jazz, bluegrass, rock and flamenco.
“The heroes generally fall into three camps: rock, jazz and finger style,” according to the CD liner notes. “The quartet’s extrapolations, however, remain stubbornly none-of-the-above. This is label-defying new music – the systematic rethinking of a dozen guitar legends commissioned, composed or arranged by and for LAGQ. The pantheon includes Frank Zappa, Hendrix and Michael Hedges; Pat Metheny, Django Reinhart and John McLaughlin; Steve Howe and Ralph Towner; Chet Atkins, Norman Blake and David Bromberg.”

| Hot Water Music New CD and on Tour | October 6th, 2004 |
|
HOT WATER MUSIC’s third album for Epitaph, the New What Next, is easily the band's finest CD yet and a must for fans of forceful, fluid and intricate punk-inspired sounds.
Built on a foundation of open-mindedness, teamwork and democracy, HWM has been road and studio dynamos since coming together in Gainesville, Florida in the mid-1990s. By 2001, the quartet had aligned with Epitaph in time to drop the highly lauded A Flight And A Crash and its follow up, the much revered Caution.
The New What Next is filled with anthemic spark and melodic yet cathartic drive. And the band is a must see live. Check out there tour dates below and be sure to visist HWM on the web at: http://www.hotwatermusic.com
